The mechanism of action for 2-bromobenzohydrazide involves the formation of a covalent bond with amino groups on the cell wall or membrane surface of bacteria, which results in damage to the bacterial cell membrane. This inhibits the synthesis of proteins and nucleic acids as well as causes death by inhibiting cellular respiration.
