Product Information

Name:
2-Chloro-4-nitrophenyl α-D-mannopyranoside
Description:

2-Chloro-4-nitrophenyl α-D-mannopyranoside is a chromogenic substrate that can be used to detect the presence of alpha-mannosidase. It is a ligand for bacterial α-mannosidases, and is used as an indicator in biological assays. This product can be used to test for the presence of alpha-mannosidase in urine and serum samples, culture media, or environmental samples. 2-Chloro-4-nitrophenyl α-D-mannopyranoside reacts with the enzyme alpha mannosidase to generate a color change from yellow to blue. The reaction can be detected by chemiluminescence, fluorimetry, or bioluminescence.
