2-Chloro-4-nitrophenyl-b-D-cellotetraoside is a chromogenic substrate for the detection of aminoglycoside antibiotics, such as gentamicin, kanamycin, neomycin, and streptomycin. It is also used in the diagnosis of bacterial infections. 2-Chloro-4-nitrophenyl-b-D-cellotetraoside is also used as a ligand in enzyme assay systems and can be used to detect the presence of enzymes such as glutathione reductase or cytochrome P450. 2CNPCT can be used to measure the activity of these enzymes by measuring the production of luminescence. This substance has been shown to have high purity and quality with a 99% chemical yield.
