Etobenzanid is a cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor that has been shown to induce apoptosis in human cancer cells. It acts by inhibiting the activity of kinases, which are enzymes involved in cellular signaling pathways that regulate cell growth and division. Etobenzanid has been found to be effective against various types of tumors, including those of the breast, lung, and colon. In addition, it has been shown to have anticancer activity against Chinese hamster ovary (CHO) cells. Etobenzanid is an analog of dabigatran, a protein inhibitor used as an anticoagulant medication. It is excreted primarily in urine and may have potential as a therapeutic agent for the treatment of cancer.
