Product Information
Tribulosin is a saponin found in the roots of Tribulus terrestris, an Indian plant. It has been shown to have cardiac and ventricular myocyte-protective effects in cell culture and may be useful for the treatment of heart failure. Tribulosin also has hepatoprotective effects and can reduce the production of malondialdehyde, a byproduct of lipid peroxidation that may contribute to liver damage. The chemical structure of tribulosin is similar to indianolide, which is one of the flavonol glycosides found in the roots of Indian plants. Tribulosin has been shown to have antimicrobial activity against Staphylococcus aureus and Bacillus subtilis.
