Product Information
Fluorescein di-b-D-glucuronide dimethyl ester is a chemiluminescent substrate that is used in the detection of enzymes, such as β-galactosidase. It is also used to detect bacteria, yeast, fungi, and parasites in food and water samples. Fluorescein di-b-D-glucuronide dimethyl ester is a fluorescent compound that binds to the enzyme β-galactosidase with high affinity. The binding of this substrate to the enzyme results in a change in the fluorescence spectrum. This change can be measured spectrophotometrically at 590 nm and the intensity of the light emitted at 615 nm can be quantified by measuring the relative increase in light emission (relative light units).
