Terrestrosin D is a natural product found in the seeds of Camptotheca acuminata. It has been shown to have anticancer activity and inhibit the growth of cancer cells. Terrestrosin D has been shown to decrease mitochondrial membrane potential, which leads to apoptosis. Terrestrosin D inhibits the synthesis of proteins that are involved in cell proliferation and growth by inhibiting the production of a protein called insulin-like growth factor (IGF). This product can also be used as an anti-inflammatory agent and may be useful for treating diabetes, although more clinical studies need to be done.
