It has antiviral, anticancer, and ribonucleoside activities. 8-Bromo-5'-O-(DMT)-dG is used as a building block for the synthesis of oligonucleotides, phosphoramidites, and other modified nucleosides. 8-Bromo-5'-O-(DMT)-dG is currently being developed as an anticancer drug.
