Description:

4-Nitrophenyl b-D-cellotrioside is a fluorogenic substrate that is used in enzyme assays, chromogenic substrates, and chemiluminescence. It is a high-purity chemical that can be used to stain cells or tissue culture media. 4-Nitrophenyl b-D-cellotrioside may be used for the detection of bacterial contamination in food, water, and other environmental samples. 4NPCT can also be conjugated with an antibody or antigen for use as a ligand in immunoassays. 4NPCT has been shown to be an excellent substrate for bacterial β-glucuronidase activity and is useful for the detection of bacteria such as Proteus mirabilis, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, E. coli and S. typhimurium.
