4-Nitrophenyl 2,3,4-tri-O-acetyl-b-D-glucuronide methyl ester is a fluorescent substrate for the beta-glucuronidase enzyme. It can be used to detect the presence of this enzyme in bacteria and other microorganisms by means of fluorometric or colorimetric assays.
