4-Nitrophenyl β-rutinoside is a fluorogenic substrate used in enzyme assays. It is synthesized by nitration of β-D-glucoside, followed by reduction with sodium borohydride. This product is available for use in diagnostics, food testing, and environmental testing. 4-Nitrophenyl β-rutinoside is also a chromogenic substrate used in diagnostic tests to detect the presence of glucose oxidase. As an enzyme substrate, this product can be used as a conjugate to bind to an enzyme and provide chemiluminescence or bioluminescence. The maximum absorption wavelength of 4-nitrophenyl β-rutinoside is at 530 nm and the emission spectrum peak occurs at 565 nm.
