Product Information

Name:
Lirimilast
Description:

Lirimilast is a biodegradable drug that can be used to treat cancer, cavities, and other diseases. It is also used in clinical trials for the treatment of asthma. Lirimilast has a chemokine-like activity that stimulates the secretion of epidermal growth factor (EGF) and other growth factors. These growth factors promote cell proliferation and inhibit apoptosis. Lirimilast also has an antimuscarinic effect on adrenergic receptors, which may decrease bronchial spasms by blocking acetylcholine release from sympathetic nerves. This drug also has an adrenergic receptor agonist effect that increases the production of inflammatory cells such as leukocytes, neutrophils, monocytes, and macrophages. Lirimilast is degradable and epidermal growth factor-like functional groups are present on its structure.
