Notoginsenoside Fp2 is a saponin that is found in the plant genus Panax. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and may be used for dietary purposes. Notoginsenoside Fp2 can be obtained through preparative isolation using hydrophilic interaction chromatography, stepwise phase chromatography, and reaction monitoring. The sample must first be dissolved in acetonitrile or methyl alcohol before being injected into the column. After purification, notoginsenoside Fp2 can then be dried under vacuum and stored at 4°C for up to 2 months.
