Product Information

Name:
GSK3008348
Description:

GSK3008348 is a quinoline derivative that inhibits the production of collagen by binding to and inhibiting the activity of TGF-β receptors. GSK3008348 has been shown to inhibit the proliferation of lung fibroblasts and reduce chronic cough in animal models. It was also successful in clinical studies for treatment of cancer, but not for treatment of kidney fibrosis. GSK3008348 is structurally related to nintedanib, which was approved by FDA in 2011 as a treatment for idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) and other severe chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases. Although GSK3008348 has been shown to be an effective inhibitor of collagen production, it is not yet known whether this drug will have similar beneficial effects on IPF or other chronic obstructive pulmonary diseases.
