Description:1-Boc-3-(methoxy)azetidine is an allylated azetidine that is used in the synthesis of heterocyclic compounds. It has been found to be a useful electrophile for the stereoselective synthesis of certain carbonyl derivatives, such as cyclopropane, benzaldehyde, and cyclopentanol. The 1-Boc-3-(methoxy)azetidine is synthesized by reacting ethyl bromoacetate with 3-methyl-2-oxazolidinone. The intermediate product is then reduced with lithium aluminum hydride, followed by the addition of methoxylamine hydrochloride to give the desired product.
