Description:4-Methoxybenzamidoxime is a cyanamide that is used as an additive in the production of nitrocellulose. 4-Methoxybenzamidoxime is added to cellulose nitrate to improve its stability and storage properties. It also functions as a solvent stabilizer, improving the solubility of the polymer. The spectra of 4-methoxybenzamidoxime are found in the range of 220 nm to 400 nm and it reacts with hydroxylamine, amide, imidazolium, and imidazole hydrochloride reagents. Connecting benzamidoximes with amidoximes yields new compounds called benzamidoximides.
