Description:
4-Amino-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole is a ligand that binds to the ferrous ion and is used in the development of model complexes. The compound has been shown to have a thermodynamic stability in aqueous solutions. 4-Amino-2,1,3-benzothiadiazole has been shown to be an efficient fluorescence quencher and exhibits photophysical properties that make it suitable for use in biomedical applications. This ligand can be used as a fluorescent probe for methemoglobin.
