This compound is toxic to humans and animals when ingested or inhaled as it causes corrosion of the mucous membranes, burns the skin and eyes, and can cause death if taken in large enough doses. 4-Amino-3-nitrobenzotrifluoride is primarily used as an intermediate to synthesize other pharmaceuticals, including antihistamines and antihypertensives.
