It is also used as an initiator for the polymerization of epoxides, dienes, and cyclohexenes. 1-Acetylferrocene is used in the production of active substances such as anti-cancer drugs, pharmaceuticals, and pesticides. This compound has been shown to have a redox potential that is lower than copper complex compounds. 1-Acetylferrocene can be used for desulfurization reactions because it reacts with sulfur dioxide at low temperatures.
