Product Information
- ABTS impurity
2-Aminobenzothiazole is a nitrogen-containing organic compound that is used as an inhibitor in wastewater treatment. It has been shown to have antimicrobial properties in biological studies and is effective against gram-positive bacteria, including penicillin-resistant strains. The chemical structure of 2-aminobenzothiazole consists of a benzene ring with two amino groups attached to it. It has been shown that this compound binds to the enzyme ribonucleotide reductase and inhibits its activity, thereby preventing the production of RNA. The reaction mechanism for this inhibition is not yet known, although it may involve acid complex formation between 2-aminobenzothiazole and the enzyme.
