Ac-Leu-Asp-Gln-Trp-Phe-Gly-NH2 is a peptide that was found to inhibit the activity of vasoactive intestinal peptide (VIP). It binds to VIP with high affinity and competitively inhibits its binding to VIP receptors. Ac-Leu-Asp-Gln-Trp-Phe-Gly-NH2 has an inhibitory effect on the maximal response of VIP in tissues, such as the intestine. This peptide also has an irritant effect on the intestine, which may be due to its competitive inhibition of VIP receptor sites. Ac-Leu-Asp-Gln-Trp-Phe Gly NH2 has been shown to have a concentration response curve for inhibiting the activity of Vip.
