Description:(1-Adamantaneacetyl1,D-Tyr(Et)2,Val4, Abu 6, Arg8·9)-vasopressin is a vasopressor analog that has been shown to be an effective treatment for congestive heart failure by acting as an agonist at the V1 receptor. It has been shown to stimulate cyclase activity and increase levels of adenosine 3',5'-cyclic monophosphate (cAMP). This drug also stimulates the production of immunoglobulin A antibodies in mice and increases the expression of leucine aminopeptidase and immunofluorescence in rat kidney cells. Vasopressin analogs are used primarily for their vasoconstrictive properties.
