Description:

Methyl 2-Amino-3-nitrobenzoate is a synthetic compound that has been shown to have potent inhibition of cancer cell lines. The inhibition is due to methyl ester binding with carbenes and transition metal frameworks, which leads to the formation of cilexetil. Cilexetil acts as a competitive inhibitor of an enzyme in the catalytic cycle, thus inhibiting carcinoma cell growth. Methyl 2-Amino-3-nitrobenzoate has also shown anticarcinogenic properties, including induction of apoptosis and inhibition of tumorigenesis. This synthetic compound also inhibits dimethylformamide catalysis, which may be related to its anticancer activity.
