AG 1478 is a chemical inhibitor that binds to the response element of tyrosine protein kinase, inhibiting its activity. AG 1478 has been shown to inhibit epidermal growth factor (EGF) induced proliferation and DNA synthesis in mouse epidermal cells. This drug also inhibits the activity of various kinases including those involved in the pathogenic mechanism of psoriasis. AG 1478 can be used as an inhibitor for the treatment of psoriasis and other diseases that involve EGF-induced proliferation and DNA synthesis such as skin cancer.
