Aromadendrin 7-O-methyl ether is an exudate of the family Asteraceae. The extract has been shown to have a hydroxyl radical scavenging activity, as well as a suppressive effect on degenerative diseases. Aromadendrin 7-O-methyl ether has also been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties and inhibit protein carbonylation, which is the process by which proteins are damaged by oxidation. The extract also contains flavonoids that possess antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities.
