2-(2-(2-Aminoethoxy)ethoxy)acetic acid is a molecule that binds to integrin receptors. It has been shown to be a fluorescent probe for electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and fluorescence resonance energy transfer measurements. This compound is synthesized on a solid phase using disulfide bond chemistry. 2-(2-(2-Aminoethoxy)ethoxy)acetic acid has been shown to inhibit the activity of serine proteases, such as matrix metalloproteinase-1 and urokinase plasminogen activator, by binding to the enzyme's active site. The uptake of this drug by cells appears to be mediated by fatty acid uptake transporters.
