ASP 7663 has been shown to inhibit acetylcholine release from myenteric plexus nerves and inhibit ion channels in cardiac muscle cells, both of which are associated with the development of heart failure. It also has anti-inflammatory effects on bowel disease, such as ischemia-reperfusion injury and inflammatory bowel disease.
