Description:

3-Amino-4-nitropyridine is a nucleophilic amine that can be used to synthesize 3-amino-4-nitropyridines. 3-Amino-4-nitropyridine has been shown to react with chlorides and nitro compounds to form 3,4-dichloropyridines and 3,5-dinitropyridines, respectively. The reaction of 3-amino-4-nitropyridine with methoxyamine forms 4-(3′,5′)-aminopyrimidinium methoxide. This product has been shown to be a stoichiometric reagent in the formation of substituted piperidines from methoxyamine and nitroethane.
