2-(Aminomethyl)pyrrolidine is a synthetic compound that has been synthesized by reacting 2-aminopyridine with methylchloroformate. It crystallizes in the monoclinic system and contains nitrogen atoms. 2-(Aminomethyl)pyrrolidine has been shown to have potent antitumor activity against cancer cells in vitro. This compound acts as a bidentate chelate ligand, which binds to the cisplatin molecule at two positions on the platinum atom. The cisplatin is then considered a potent anticancer drug, which can be used to treat cancer. 2-(Aminomethyl)pyrrolidine also has an anti-inflammatory effect and inhibits platelet aggregation by binding to sulfate groups on proteins, thereby preventing coagulation of blood.
