Description:
3-Acetyl-1-(phenylsulfonyl)pyrrole is a reactive amide that can be used as a cancer therapy. It has been synthesized with ferrocene and carbonic acid to form an electrochemical study, which was then reacted with nitro groups to create the corresponding aromatic nitro compounds. The resulting products were hydrolyzed in water to produce water-soluble polymers. 3-Acetyl-1-(phenylsulfonyl)pyrrole is not toxic and has synergistic effects when combined with ruthenocene, an anticancer drug. 3-Acetyl-1-(phenylsulfonyl)pyrrole has also been shown to be a functional group in the synthesis of anhydrase inhibitors and other drugs.
