Description:
3-Amino-2-(hydroxymethyl)pyridine is a fluorescent probe that can be used for the detection of aminopeptidase activity. This compound can be excited at wavelengths between 350 and 380 nm, resulting in an emission spectrum with a peak at about 500 nm. The fluorescence quantum yield of this probe is 0.40. It has been used as a ratiometric analytical method and in the study of cellular metabolism and protein synthesis.
