3-Amino-4-cyanopyrrole is a diphenyl ether sulfonamide with biological properties. It belongs to the group p2 of pyrazole ring, which is shown in the herpes simplex virus. 3-Amino-4-cyanopyrrole has been shown to be a growth factor for epidermal cells and it also inhibits the growth of monoclonal antibody producing cells. It can be used as an antiinflammatory agent because it blocks the production of prostaglandin E2, which is responsible for edema, pain, and fever. The mechanism of its action involves binding to cyclooxygenase enzymes and inhibiting their activity. 3-Amino-4-cyanopyrrole can also be used as a fluorescent probe in electrochemical impedance spectroscopy measurements.
