Product Information
4-Amino-2,2'-bipyridine (4ABP) is a luminescent molecule that emits light in the near infrared region. It is used as a biomarker for some biological processes and has been shown to produce fluorescence under irradiation. 4ABP is a bipyridine with two sulfhydryl groups and two biotin moieties. The crystal structure of 4ABP has been determined by X-ray crystallography. 4ABP has been shown to be fluorescent and can be conjugated to other molecules using its sulfhydryl groups. The electrochemical properties of 4ABP have been investigated in chloroform solution and it was found that the sulfhydryl group can act as an electron donor or acceptor.
