Product Information
Name:Aluminium sulfate
Brand:Biosynth
Description:Aluminium sulfate is a water-soluble, inorganic compound that belongs to the class of sulfates. It can be produced by reacting aluminium with sulfuric acid. Aluminium sulfate is used for wastewater treatment and as an additive in paper production. Aluminium sulfate has inhibitory properties against sodium carbonate, which helps to remove the whiteness of paper and improve its quality. The synergistic effect of aluminium sulfate and sodium citrate is also beneficial for the removal of calcium and magnesium ions from water, which are responsible for the formation of scale on pipes. Aluminium sulfate has been shown to have physiological effects on plants, such as inhibition of photosynthesis and cellular respiration due to reduced uptake of oxygen by leaves. This results in a reduction in plant growth and may lead to death if not corrected. Aluminium sulfate also has surfactant properties that make it useful in surface methodology experiments.
