Acrinathrin is a pyrethroid insecticide that inhibits the function of the ryanodine receptor, which is an important ion channel in skeletal muscle cells. Acrinathrin also acts on bacterial polymerase chain reactions (PCR) and detoxification enzymes. It has been shown to be toxic to many bacterial strains, including high-resistant strains. Acrinathrin is insoluble in water, making it difficult to use in liquid form. It has been shown that acetate extraction can be used as a solvent for this insecticide, but it may have a synergic effect with other chemicals.
