Description

21-O-Acetyl dexamethasone is a synthetic glucocorticoid that acts as a potent anti-inflammatory and immunosuppressive agent. It is used in the treatment of a wide range of conditions, including allergic reactions, skin disorders, and inflammatory bowel disease. The biological properties of this drug have been studied using an experimental model in rats. 21-O-Acetyl dexamethasone was found to be more effective than dexamethasone acetate in reducing allergic symptoms. The surface methodology has also been studied for the detection of this drug. This method is based on the reaction mechanism between the drug and matrix effect to produce fluorescent compounds that can be detected by ultraviolet (UV) light.
