Description:Algestone is a synthetic steroid that binds to and blocks the angiotensin II type I receptor (AT1). Algestone has been shown to reduce choroidal neovascularization in mouse models. The combination of algestone and estradiol benzoate has been found to be effective for the treatment of endometriosis. Algestone is not carcinogenic and was found to have no significant effect on ovarian activity in mice. The polymer used in this drug is biocompatible and can be analyzed using an analytical method.
