Description:Alternariol is a natural product that is extracted from the plant Etoac. It has been shown to have anti-inflammatory properties in vitro and in vivo in murine hepatoma cells, as well as in human serum. Alternariol also has an effect on toll-like receptor signaling and pro-apoptotic protein expression. Alternariol was found to be inactive against methyl transferase enzymes, which can lead to its enzymatic inactivation. The LC-MS/MS method for the detection of alternariol was developed using a surface methodology.
