It has inhibitory properties against choroidal neovascularization induced by dorzolamide hydrochloride and other pharmacological agents. 5-Amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole-2-sulfonamide has also been shown to have antiangiogenic activity in vitro and in vivo assays. 5ATTS inhibits the growth of bacteria and fungi by inhibiting fatty acid synthesis. The drug also has been shown to be effective in treating diabetic neuropathy and fluorescein angiography associated with itchy eyes.
