Azido-PEG2-alcohol is a modified polymer that can be used as a linker to connect proteins and other materials to surfaces. It has been shown to inhibit the activity of enzymes, such as those found in Streptococcus pneumoniae, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Staphylococcus aureus. The inhibition was demonstrated by kinetic data and functional groups. Azido-PEG2-alcohol also has lectin-like properties that allow it to bind carbohydrates with high affinity.
