Description:
Valeric acid-d9 is a short-chain fatty acid that is used in the preparation of acetone solutions for tissue fixation. Valeric acid-d9 has been shown to reduce blood pressure and normalize circulatory system function. It also inhibits muscle contraction and reduces the excitability of neurons, making it an ideal anaesthetic. Valeric acid-d9 is metabolized by hydrolysis to form valeric acid and acetic acid, which are then oxidized to form CO2 and water.
