- 1-(4-Azidophenyl)-2-bromo-ethanone4'-Azido-2-bromoacetophenone
Brand:Biosynth
Description:p-Azidophenacyl bromide is an enzyme form that catalyzes the hydrolysis of azides, such as nitrobenzene. It is chemically stable and can be used in human serum. The enzyme form has been shown to hydrolyze DNA with high specificity and low background. p-Azidophenacyl bromide also has antiviral properties against herpes simplex virus because it inhibits the synthesis of viral DNA. This enzyme form also binds to benzyl groups on the surface of cell membranes, which are part of a ternary complex formation with lysine residues and hydroxyl groups. p-Azidophenacyl bromide is present in mitochondria and cytochrome plasma mass spectrometry has shown that it is a mitochondrial cytochrome.
