4-Amino-6-(trifluoromethyl)benzene-1,3-disulfonamide (4AFBDS) is a chemical compound that can be used for the treatment of wastewater. It has shown to be effective against anhydrase, which is an enzyme that catalyzes the conversion of water to hydrogen peroxide and hydroxide ion. 4AFBDS also attenuates oxidative stress in cardiac cells and inhibits the production of active oxygen species by inhibiting the activity of carbonic anhydrase.
