(3-Aminopropyl)-vinyl ether is a reactive vinyl ether, which is synthesized by the reaction of amines with chloroform and ethylene oxide in aqueous solution. This polymer has been used as sealant, coating, and adhesive in the manufacture of synthetic rubber products. It has also been used as a gelatizing agent for the production of coatings. The hydroxyl group on this polymer can react with primary amino groups to form an amide bond. (3-Aminopropyl)-vinyl ether is a multifocal polymer that contains both reactive and non-reactive functional groups.
