2-Acetyl-6-methoxypyridine is a reactive intermediate that is used in the synthesis of morpholine and piperidine. This compound has been shown to have anti-cancer properties, with cytotoxic effects on HCT116 cells. It has also been shown to be an organometallic compound that can interact with nucleophilic groups. 2-Acetyl-6-methoxypyridine may also be used as an antibacterial agent, although there are no studies that have investigated its cellular interactions.
