Description:
6-Aminopicolinic acid methyl ester is a palladium complex that inhibits the activity of nitric oxide synthase (NOS) and nitric oxide (NO). It has been shown to inhibit the production of NO in colon tissues, which may be due to its ability to competitively bind with and inhibit NOS. 6-Aminopicolinic acid methyl ester also has a reductive elimination mechanism that binds with nitro groups in proteins, leading to an inhibition of disease activity. The structure of 6-aminopicolinic acid methyl ester can be elucidated using x-ray diffraction data and crystallography studies.
