Aluminium isopropoxide is a chemical compound that has been used to prepare metal chelate derivatives. It is a colorless solid that is soluble in water and alcohol. Aluminium isopropoxide has been shown to be stable under conditions of high resistance and at high temperatures, and can be used as a chelating ligand for the synthesis of metal complexes with low molecular weight. The use of aluminium isopropoxide for the preparation of aluminum complexes has been demonstrated by the use of plasma mass spectrometry, laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry, and surfactant sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS) for preparative high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). Aluminium isopropoxide also binds to form methyl ethyl ethers.
