Allyl phenyl sulphone is a molecule with a p2 group. The molecule contains an allyl group and a phenyl group, which are connected to each other by a double bond. The two groups are on the opposite sides of the molecule. Allyl phenyl sulphone is synthesized using an asymmetric synthesis reaction, where boron nitride is used as the substrate molecule. A hydroxide solution is used as the solid catalyst to induce the reaction between an allyl and chlorine atom to form an allyl phenyl sulphone. Magnetic resonance spectroscopy has been used to study the reaction mechanism for this synthesis.
