- 3-Amino-4-Cyano-Pyridine
3-Amino-4-cyanopyridine is an anticancer agent that is a potent inhibitor of DNA topoisomerase II. This compound binds to the enzyme and prevents it from breaking and rejoining the strands of DNA, which leads to cell death. 3-Amino-4-cyanopyridine has been shown to be a selective inhibitor of cancer cells with low toxicity for healthy cells. It also inhibits the growth of leukemia cells by inhibiting DNA synthesis, protein synthesis, and RNA synthesis. 3-Amino-4-cyanopyridine has been shown to have a high affinity for indole-7-carbonitrile (ICL), which is a ligand found in many anticancer drugs. The interactions between ICL and 3ACN are studied using silico molecular docking simulations.
