Description:

Ammonium tungstate pentahydrate is a catalyst that is used in the production of polyethylene. It reacts with hydrochloric acid and molybdenum to form an ammonium tungsten complex, which can react with hydrogen and oxygen to produce water vapor. The optimum concentration of ammonium tungstate pentahydrate is 2-5% by weight. Ammonium tungstate pentahydrate does not react with zirconium oxide, so it can be used as a catalyst for the production of polyethylene without the need for additional catalysts. Ammonium tungstate pentahydrate has been shown to be an effective oxidation catalyst, especially when it is used in combination with phosphotungstic acid or other chemical oxidants. The reaction mechanism for this type of catalyst involves particle formation and energy efficiency. This type of catalyst also has carbonyl groups on its surface that are reactive with compounds containing C=O bonds
